Mom’s Nite Out | FAQ


How did Mom’s Nite Out get started?
National Mom’s Nite Out was held on May 5, 2011 and since there was not a local event, Wendy decided to create one. The first events were held through her personal blog, Choosing Love. Waiting a whole year for the next one would be agonizing so planning the next event started that very night.

How often are the events held?
Four times a year in February, May, August, and November. The May event is at the same time at National Mom’s Nite Out, which was created by Maria Bailey, and is held the Thursday before Mother’s Day. The remaining three events are usually held on Thursday evenings.

What happens at Mom’s Nite Out?
Fun, grown up girl bonding time. Meet new faces or bring friends you already have for a few hours away from it all. Enjoy plenty of chat time, laughter, and hopefully you end up with a giveaway to take home at the end of the night. A few select vendors are available at each event, which is a great way to shop for yourself or for a loved one.

How much does it cost?
Nothing. Nada. Free. Absolutely. The family budget does not have to suffer in order for mom to get a night out. Food is available for purchase, but is not required. Every mom should be offered the opportunity to attend the event, regardless of finances.


Where is it held?
Mom’s Nite Out is held at Buffalo Wild Wings, located at 1475 W. Elliot Road in Gilbert, Arizona.

Are food and drinks available?
Yes. Food is available for purchase, but not required.

How do I find out about the next event?
Sign up for the mailing list to be notified of future events. You will receive emails with event details. Your information is never sold or shared. You can also learn about the event right here, on Facebook, or @AzMomsNetwork

Who can attend?
Whether your child came into your family by birth, adoption, foster care, or arrived by the stork we are all moms.

All mothers are welcome.

    • c-section or vaginal birth
    • drug free labor or give me all the drugs you can find kind of labor
    • pushed one time or pushed forever and a day
    • bottle or breast fed
    • kept the baby in a crib or shared a family bed
    • lasted until 9 months plus or had a preemie in the NICU
    • cloth diapers to save the environment or proudly used disposable
    • weaned early or weaned late
    • potty trained before walking or crossing fingers every day
    • kicked the kids out at 18 or still having them live at home in their 20’s+
    • public school, private school, charter school, homeschool or unschool
    • in vitro, surrogacy, or a gift.

If you are visiting Arizona or live in The Valley of the Sun you are welcome! Moms come from surrounding areas such as Gilbert, Tempe, Chandler, Mesa, Scottsdale, Apache Junction, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, and Phoenix. The event has even included a mom from Florida.

I am not a mother. Can I still attend?
Yes. We do not check for stretch marks or c-section scars at the door. Be forewarned though, any of those items in the previous sentence may spontaneously be included in random conversation at any point. Conversations may go even further into items listed above. Still okay with that? Then come on down!

Can I bring my newborn?
Infants are welcome, if you are nursing. There is no guarantee that other moms will not be hanging over your shoulder just to get a glance of all their cuteness.

Can I bring my children?
Only nursing infants that are not yet mobile are welcome. We kindly ask that older children remain at home so moms can enjoy the night out. As a mom, it is so important you have the time for yourself.

Do you provide childcare?
Childcare is not provided at the event. Please sign up for our newsletter so you can find out about the next event and give yourself plenty of time to secure a babysitter.

What do I wear?
Clothing is required, but whatever form you choose is up to you. You can dress up for the night out or come with spit up still left on your shoulder. Choosing the right outfit may be stressful to you so just remember that what is important is that you are there. I own a business.  Do you accept giveaways?
Of course! Moms are so very excited to choose which item they take home! If you would like to provide a giveaway, please check out the Business page for more information.

I own a business.  Can I sell items at the event?
Absolutely! Moms love having a boutique at their fingertips while they chat, eat, and then shop! If you would like to be a vendor, please check out the Vendor page for more information.


Are volunteers welcome?
Yes. As the event grows, it is so important to have people help. Set up begins one hour before the event and there is always something to do beforehand, during, and after the event. Contact Wendy for more information.

How else can I help?
Spread the word and inviting other moms is crucial. Invite others by email, Facebook, or by word of mouth. If you know of a business that you think should participate, contact Wendy.


Did someone say prizes?
We most certainly did! Generous businesses provide items for giveaways!

Who wins giveaway items?
Attendees do. You must be present to enter and win the giveaways. You get one ticket for just attending the event which is all you need to possibly go home with a fabulous item. Be sure to visit the event page to learn all the ways you can earn extra tickets for additional chances of winning. If your ticket gets drawn then you get to pick your prize. Each attendee is eligible to win one item. If everyone has won an item, then any items leftover are up for grabs.

Who wins raffle prizes?
Raffle prizes are separate from the giveaways and are a bonus to some Mom’s Nite Out events. Raffle tickets are sold for $1 each and 100% of the money is donated. Anyone who purchases the tickets is eligible to win. You simply place your ticket in the container of the item you would like to win. If you want to win a few items then spread your tickets among the containers. If you want to win just one item then put all your tickets in that one container.

What is the difference between giveaway items and raffle prizes?
Both items are generously donated by businesses and individuals.

Giveaway items are freely given to moms just for attending. Businesses who provide giveaway items are listed on the event page.

Raffle prizes are donated with the specific purpose of raising money to be donated to a cause or individual. These items in the past have been handled by someone else, so I have not been a part of this. We merely have them at the event to help facilitate raising funds.

What items can be won?
Items vary for each event. Some items are from nationally recognized name brands, local businesses, and from moms who are starting their own business.
